The Style and Design of Tech’s most distinguishable brand.

The Key Concepts:

Simplicity.

Apple’s products excel because they’re intuitive. Users start using products feeling like they already understand how they work.
1.) One finger can open Apple laptops [1]
2.) UI’s are based on metaphors:[2]
Folders
Files “stack” like papers on a desk
3.) One phone, instead of many.
4.) Clear, Crisp Lines[6]

Humans are biologically programmed to respond positively to certain shapes, and designs.
Apple makes their designs human friendly.

Outdated Mobile Phones That Are Still Selling Like a Gangbuster

“You can't easily convince Mr. John not to buy the old iPhone 4s until you give him $700 to buy the new iPhone 5s”

When new phones are rolled out, some folks are afraid of burning a hole in their pockets because the truth is that the price of the latest Smartphone’s is higher as their demand are bigger too. So they quietly hang-around and wait for those phones to become outdated, then they can easily buy the old or new phone (if preferred) from a reseller or at  a free Classifieds  ads site Like OLX Nigeria at much cheaper price than the new one.

It really surprise me to see some old devices that are still selling even selling more than when they are new and hot, I don’t specify my list on a single manufacturer, of course the list was expanded to Blackberry, iPhone and Samsung. But where is Nokia? Well I dunno.

I can't specifically give out reasons as why these devices are selling like a gangbuster even till their old age, I believe  this was due to performance, phone life and compatibility maybe even more. I'm sure you're in haste to know about these devices, ok now the list start.

“You can't easily convince Mr. John not to buy the iPhone 4s until you give him $700 to buy the new iPhone 5s”

iPhone 4s

If you're still having your old iPhone 4S for sale, there are chances you'll get a buyer sooner than later, there is a good resale value for this phone, that is "you won’t lose you sell and you wont cry you buy", there are many people who still cant wait to get a hold of this phone despite it has been succeeded by 3 different phones (iPhone 5, 5s and 5c), (maybe more). This old phone can still be purchased at negotiable price of 53k in any online store where they sell used phones.

Must Read: Blackberry Vs iPhone: Reason I Preferred Blackberry

Blackberry Bold 5

For those that cherish the blackberry devices and can’t afford to purchase their new Smartphone, getting a good conditioned Bold 5 is probably the best option, despite this phone has also been succeeded by many latest devices, still the demand are getting higher in the market, don’t believe me? Couple of months back I found it hard to  change a friend’s mind in purchasing a aged devices and go for new one, but he later throw away all my advices and went on to acquire the Bold 5.

Personally as much as I hated blackberry devices, I still give the Bold 5 a different viewpoint, considering the smart touch and the QWERTY, I think this is the reasons many still want to kill themselves in acquiring the device.

Samsung Galaxy SII

Much focus was on Samsung to release their new phone since the release of Galaxy S4 in 2013, although the price of their latest S4 is dropping and many people are still buying, this is also the same for the old Galaxy S2, many individual neglected the same old Galaxy SIII and went ahead to purchase the older S2.

Blackberry Torch 2

If you want to buy a cheap and affordable blackberry phone, don’t waste your time too much the blackberry torch 2 is there for you at negotiable price of 15k for used one, the range at which all and sundry are rushing to buy the phone is unbearable despite is of no use than to listen to music! Asked if I love the phone? Hell no!!

Before I wrote this post I made research to make sure if these devices are really selling, and all the result I got on these devices really surprise me. You can also check on mobile store where they sell both used and new phones to know if these phones are really getting buyer. I will be glad to have your comment on this topic to show your contribution and why some of these devices are still selling.

Mobile War: LG Optimus G E975 vs Sony Xperia Z

This is a Guest Post by Alisha Singh for www.kulhead.com
LG Optimus G E975 vs Sony Xperia Z

In the past few months, some of the biggest brands globally have come out with their flagship smartphones. And these smartphones are best of the best in their respective manufacturing brands. We saw a recent surge in the launch of smartphones such as HTC Butterfly, Sony Xperia Z, Nokia PureView 808, Sony Xperia Z, LG google Nexus, LG Optimus G and a lot more. The one thing that is commom among these smartphones is that they all run on Android operating system. The features of the hardware, of course, do differ. When buying yourself a flagship smartphone, there are a number of elements you keep in mind.. one of the most important thing is the brand of the phone, people in India are especially brand- conscious. Here we are going to have a look at the features and performances of recently launched LG Optimus G E975 and Sony Xperia Z...

Must Read: Should You Buy Samsung Galaxy SIV Or Galaxy SIV Mini?

LG Optimus G E975

This phone can be touted as the ray of hope for the manufacturing brand, because the phone looks quite good and promising. In terms of technical specs, there is a conspicuous similarity between this smartphone and Google Nexus 4. Nexus 4 has rounded edges and if you do away with those, you will probably get Optimas G. The only major difference is their rear casing.  If they are similar in some of the aspects, why should you consider buying this phone, which is comparatively more expensive? We'll find it out here...

Sony Xperia Z

Earlier smartphones from Sony such as Sony Xperia T and Sony Xperia S were rightly promising. But it is the Xperia Z that Sony is really garnering all the attention and appreciation in the marketing business of smartphones.

Comparing LG Optimus G E975 with Sony Xperia Z

Both the smartphones have a quad-core CPU at a clock speed of 1.5GHz with 2GB of RAM.

The LG Optimus G has a 720p HD display sized at 4.7-inches whereas the Sony Xperia Z has a full HD 1080p display sized at 5- inches.

LG Optimus G has a 32 GB of internal storage and doesn't offer an expandable memory which means you are going to get stuck with whatever you get, whereas Xperia Z has an internal storage of 16 GB which is expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card. MicroSD cards ensure that you have enough storage capacity.

Must Read: How to Minimize Internet Data Consumption on Android Devices | No Apps

One of the things that differentiate between the smartphones, apart from their built and the features of their hardware/software is their camera functionality... If you pay anything between Rs. 22,000 and Rs. 45,000, you definitely expect a very nice camera capable of taking decent pictures. LG Optimus G has an enhanced 13 megapixels camera with an LED flash support. The secondary camera is significantly weak at only 2 megapixels. Xperia Z also has a camera with 13.1 megapixels and 2.2 megapixels on the front.

LG Optimus G has a 2100mAh battery which manages to give you an average life of about 6 hours & 40 minutes when you're in a video- watching spree. If you're working with 3G connectivity, you can get up to 13 to 14 hours of life in a heavy usage. While Xperia Z has a very huge battery at 2330 mAh. Sony claims that it gives you a talktime of up to 11 hours 550 hours of standby time.

Which phone you should go for

There are a number of things about Sony Xperia Z that you'll fall in love with. Although there some glitches, they fade in comparison with other incredible features. The Optimus G is also a nice feature-packed smartphone and has an ability to carry out any task effortlessly. Some of the features stand out remarkably. The phone also looks sophisticated and does not feel cheap, like previous LG phones. Both of these smartphones give you a good performance and almost very similar features and at almost same price range but at the end of the day, it goes down to which brand among the two you prefer. If it were me, I'd go with the Xperia Z just for a better battery performance and a body that isn't very delicate!

Due to to the high numbers of users the unofficial BBM encountered; Blackberry has created a wait
list for those interested in signing up for a BBM account but individuals who registered on BlackBerry's Web site earlier this month won't be required to wait  and can begin using the app immediately upon download.

However, those that did not pre sign up can use their mail address and wait for the confirmation and invitation from Blackberry when their account is ready to use BBM, no time to wait? Then you can use this workaround made available by CNET members. after downloading the app on either your Android or iOS device. If you're already a BBM user and want to use your current BBID, enter your login details on the screen. But If you're new to BBM or want to use a different BBID, you can register as well.

Note that the bypassing tips above only work on limited devices, and also know that Blackberry can fix the bug any moment from now. More tips and news will be made available to you as we will br updating this post any moments we know more. Happy downloading

How To Hide Multimedia Files From Android Phone's Gallery

On android devices  by default any multimedia files such as pictures and movies saved on your phone memory or external memory will always show up in gallery automatically, I was at first pissed at this when I  started using an Android phone, because at times you may not want some movies or pictures to show up in your media gallery because you know this is the first place anyone holding your phone will go to and definitely you wouldn't want them to see some private pictures and videos on your phone.

Just select the file Click on rename Put dot At the beginning of the filename Ta Da! the folder is hidden.

Though there is no way to edit what shows up in gallery because the gallery folder has set to speed-read for any types of multimedia files be it videos or pictures on your phone or external storage and display it. But don't lose hope yet I can give you some tricks to hide specific photos or videos from showing up in gallery. Wait! I know there are some Android Apps that hide files and folder on your phones, but who needed those apps when you can do it without apps? isn't that cool?

I will try to simplify this so that everyone reading this post will understand (including my grandma :)  first i will let you know how to hide files and folder on your Android devices

How to Hide Files and Folder on your Android Devices

This is a very easy process just begin the file name with dot (.Filename) without the brackets that’s You’ve a folder or file named Bluetooth on your storage and you want to hide it
  1. Just select the file
  2.  Click on rename
  3. Put dot At the beginning of the filename
  4. Ta Da! the folder is hidden.

Must Read :Top 6+ Alternatives to Google Play App Store

Note that if “show hidden files” is enabling those hidden files will be faintly visible so that you will know which files or folder you've hidden, just like it is on window s operating system.

Now to Hide Multimedia Files from showing up in Gallery

This is also very simple process, just copy all the multimedia files (videos and pictures) you don’t want to show in gallery into one folder, rename the folder to (.nomedia) and Viola you cant see any files you put in nomedia folder on your gallery ever again.

The Process to Hide Multimedia files from Gallery on Android Device

  1. Create a new folder and name it .nomedia
  2. Copy any pictures or videos you don’t want to show in gallery into .nomedia folder

Create a new folder and name it .nomedia Copy any pictures or videos you don’t want to show in gallery into .nomedia folder

Note that there is dot (.) Before the filename therefore .nomedia folder will not be visible until you enable "show hidden files and folders" this will make the original folder invincible and the media contents inside the folder invisible in gallery!

Are you a webmaster? Then you should know how the  no index tag work when you don’t want Google bot to crawl your web content. then you should know where Google get the idea…who knows

Quality

Unlike other Chinese mobile products; Tecno phones are far different in terms of Quality, you can accuse Tecno of being a Chinese, Chinko Phones, I will disagree if you accuse them of poor quality, their phones works perfectly well just as any phones would work, have you seen the Phantom A (F7), you should compare the specs and quality with Samsung Galaxies!

Price

To understand the demand of users in terms of selling, Price must be put into consideration especially in a country that’s mostly made up of poor people, price is great benefit, you can bark all what you want that Junior want to buy a Cheap Tecno Phones, well you can’t change his mind until you give him $300 to buy Samsung Galaxy or iPhone.

Promise little, delivered more

Before Apple or Samsung will release a new phones, there would be 2 months of rumors, leaked and talks, Blackberry has been promising BBM for all for a while now, yet we don’t see BBM – I wonder if BBM is still coming to Android and iOS but Tecno they will promise few and delivered more, a Phantom A (F7) comes with power bank which you can charge and use as a torch, it can also be used to store power to charge your phones or other devices when you runs out – did they ever say this? Tecno D5 turn-up to have a plastic protective case and again they wouldn’t even tell you, all their Android Touch Screen phones  turned out to have an extra screen protective, A friend’s Tecno N3 knocked the floor and the screen got broken but am surprised that the screen touch was working perfectly ok – that was when I know about the hidden screen protective and again they don’t scream this.

Who doesn’t love a Smartphone? Yes Tecno manufactured Smartphones. They know we want and love Android they give it to us, last time I hold an iPhone 3 there is still Bluetooth missing and I don’t think Blackberry ever have FM radio in their ancient devices!

Originality

Unlike other China products who manufactured phones and put others company’s name on top, Tecno mobile never does that, a huge different not to call Tecno a Chinko Phone, Tecno phones are always Tecno because they are Tecno.

Top 7 Reasons I Hate Blackberry Phones

Many people think I just hate blackberry phones for no good reasons, well it’s not, I’ve once preferred a blackberry phone than an iPhone and the reasons stated were the BBM and BIS, (isn’t all what make it unique)? But now BIS in no longer a reason and BBM is coming to Android and iOS I know you love your BB because it does what you wanted but the truth is that it can't  do more and that’s the point for singing it loud that blackberry sucks and I don’t think I will buy one – at least when all the following reasons are taken care of.

Top 7 Reasons I Hate Blackberry Phones  | and Why You Shouldn't Buy One

Not Many Applications in AppWorld

The sweetness of using a Smartphone is to have as much app as you can mess up with; the case is not the same with Blackberry! I bet all the applications in their AppStore are are still behind the GooglePlay and Apple Store

No Room for Customization

You can’t even customize the whole silly things! No room for you to decide how to use your Smartphone, you’re being imprisoned by your own phone. Can they control everything? I’ve use a hacked Symbian Phone, I got an Android phone which has been rooted and I can bet my last dollar that when I got an iPhone it won’t last more than a month before I will jail break it. If hacking or tweaking a Smartphone operating system is not a big deal to you - then probably that smart doll was manufactured for your kind, what am I customizing anyway? That’s a question a no Techie guy would ask – and that’s the point!

BIS outage - The Worst Nightmarish

This is the worst blackberry users experience, without BIS your browser will only open a “connection error” page, you can’t check your inbox, you can’t download, you can’t chat even with their dimwitted BBM – there is no way to surf the internet, or unless you’re connected to a WiFi network and that’s kinda sucks. So if you can’t browse the internet on your bb phone with your mobile internet data plan I guess when you have no money to subscribe BIS you will probably be listening to music or just playing around with the QWERTY – (the only thing they got right)! You can’t even find good games to enjoy!

BBM will soon be for all, then we doesn’t give a damn!

They keep shouting BBM and its uniqueness, well we fell for it ( or I fell for it), one of the reasons many people still considering buying a Blackberry phones is because of the BBM but now the song has changed BBM will soon be for all,  so who give a damn to buy Blackberry phone? And if we met a disappointment there are Better Smartphone Messengers better than BBM!

Synchronizations? No you can’t do it on BB so don’t even think about it!

The worst part of it all is the synchronization, the power to synchronize contacts, Calendar, ToDo and Memo with your mail account is the best features any mail client will have and this is great if your phone Operating System supports it. Blackberry say “don’t look forward to it, you can’t do it on your BB phone” and this is one of the reasons I Love Android, I got everything covered with my mail account. I can use and access playstore, mail, YouTube, contacts, todo, calendar, maps, music, chats, radio, apps and many more things with just ONE GOOGLE ACCOUNT!

Boot Time

It’s annoying – I mean the boot time, you can’t instantly do a reboot because you might afraid your Blackberry may take more than enough time to boot up, at least 2-3 minutes for a Smartphone to boot up! That’s a whole lot of time even an old symbian belle doesn’t take such time and just before I forget the Blackberry battery is nothing but a total disgrace!

Games Application is a dead story

How many games have you installed on your Blackberry phone? I bet not as many as I have on my Android phone If you’re a hardcore gamer don’t even think of having a blackberry phone, you will just be disappointed, you can’t enjoy doing what you love most, you can’t play HD games with pleasure on your Blackberry, with my android I can play GTA, play PES and play any games playable.

Let’s say I’m just been economical with the lists, there are still much more to mention but just let me leave it at that – at least for now, I don’t intend to start a World War III with BB Fans.  Wait! I don’t give a fuck about what you said, I hated   Blackberry  phones with passion this is just about my experiences with Blackberry Smartphone and its OS, If you’re not happy with it tell me where am making a wrong accusation in the comment box and if you share the same mindset with me on this, share this with your friend to let them know how much you hated blackberry, scream out loud that Blackberry Sucks and doesn’t worth buying.

How to Minimize Internet Data Consumption on Android Devices | No Apps

Internet Data consumption is the first disease you may bump into when you first got your Android device, if you are in an area where free WiFi or internet data connectivity is always available you're less concern with this disease but if you're on limited mobile data usage (especially those of us that normally subscribe to 1GB, 2GB or 3GB internet data plan. I believe you're really pissed to see your data subscription die out at early age without doing much more with it! (trust me, I know the feelings), without beating around the bush the reason you’re here is to know how to minimize internet data consumption and save your more data on your android devices, right? Lets go straight to the points then.

Limit Background Processes

Background processes are one of the major causes of data loss on Android devices, those games, those apps that you think or that doesn't need to consume any internet data are probably consuming more than enough internet data you'll ever think of and the only way to stop this is to limit the amount of background processes.

To do this head over to settings>developer options>scroll down under apps tab, then click on background process limit>then select your desired process limit.

Note: If you select At most 1 process, remember when the limit is reach, other background process will be disabled! Isn’t that what you wanted?

Disable Automatic Update Apps

Much data consumption also happens unnecessarily when certain Apps try to update themselves automatically behind your back, when you have no much data plan to update or when you're reserving your data for another thing.

To have total control of app updates; run over to playstore>tap the menu button>click on settings>unchecked auto-update apps>and check update over Wi-Fi only.

Restrict Background Data for Apps

Sometimes you may not even open any apps but still see your data burning off, guessed what? There are some apps that are running in the background, those apps love to check for updates or running their silly ads, they just love to eat up data, though the good purpose are there but who cares as long as they depleted those reserved data, even if you've limited the background process, there is still need to restrict some apps from running in the background, there are two way to do this.

1.      Restrict background data for all apps and services: this will permanently restrict background data for all your apps and services unless you’re connected to a WiFi network this MEANS that all services or apps depending on background process to run will not work until you’re connected to a WiFi network, which I don’t consider as a good option here, but to do it anyway, got to settings>data usage>tab the menu button> and check “restrict background data”>press ok to confirm.

2. Restrict background data for certain apps: this will permanently restrict background data for some specific app, this means you select which apps which apps you find guilty of consuming much data and sentence them to restriction! Which I believe the better option than the first one, you look through the apps that use much background data which don’t need or use and restrict background data for such apps.

To do just this: head over to settings>data usage>scroll down to select the app>click on it and mark restrict background data>press ok to confirm your selection. (Assuming you are using Ice Cream Sandwich or later versions of Android).

Off Your Data When You Don’t Use It

How often do you turn off your data? Probably you always leave it on, to save much data consumption on your android device I recommend you to off your data when you are not using it. Or why do you need to turn it on always anyway? Much more data can be saved if you insensitive to turn off your data anytime you aren’t making use of it, to simply do this, drop down the notification menu>tap on “data connection” >select off> tada!

Temporarily switch off sync

Unreasonably syncing data also consume some amount of data, prevent your android phone from unnecessarily syncing data by disabling syncing, either from the notification bar, or by going to Settings > Data Usage > Menu > uncheck "Auto-sync data."

Change Browser’s Settings to save More Data

There are some changes you can make to your browser to save much more data consumption on your android devices, reduce image quality or cancel load images, change your browsing view to “fit to screen instead of “Desktop view”.

Use your common and uncommon sense to save many more data on your android devices

Okay at last it comes to where you use your own common senses perhaps and an uncommon one too, which condemn you to use your phone to download when you’re not in Wireless or 3G area, to large junk of stream videos, to open as many tabs as you like, to be unconscious with your data cap, to always share your data recklessly to everyone and anyone, to running heavy apps that consume much data, to watch videos, make video calls when you aren’t on free Wireless net. And lastly to use your mobile data like tomorrow is the Christmas-data-bonus-offer!
All the above tips and recommendation are risk-free, you don't need to install any apps to get it done and besides in practice all these tips are working for me pretty well which I have no doubts you will also like to implement them and see how things worked-out with your data usage, if you have any questions regarding these tips, feel free to leave your comment and don’t forget to share this posts with your friends, save them from wasting their data subscription every day.
